In 1909, churches throughout Western North Carolina began taking up a Thanksgiving Offering to support Mountain Orphanage, where the orphaned children of Western North Carolina could find security, love, and hope for a brighter future. Today, that orphanage is Black Mountain Home for Children, Youth & Families and the original ministry—providing for children in need in a loving, Christian environment—is still going strong.
Each fall, we supply materials to churches and other organizations that would like to help meet the needs of the children entrusted to us. To learn more about the offering, please contact Sheryl Eller at 828-686-3451 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Each year our youth select some of their peers to share their thoughts about the ministry with staff, volunteers, and the public. Youth will share their favorite things about the Home and will also offer suggestions for improvements. This is a wonderful opportunity for youth to have a voice and show off their poise and thoughtful ideas about the ministry.
Join us for our signature event! We’ll have our silent auction, live music by the Agee Family, a car show, Ridin’ on Faith Ministries, a BBQ sale, games for the kids, a pumpkin patch provided by The Rock Church of Asheville, and so much more! This is the day we showcase our campus, our ministry, and the work God is doing in the lives of children throughout the year. Come join us!
